What are the advantages of cantilever racking?

Is cantilever racking more expensive?

Cantilever racking is comparable to traditional pallet racking in price.

What are the disadvantages of a cantilever roof?

Cantilever roofs are essential for outdoor applications that require protection from the elements — there are few disadvantages. However, a covering is unnecessary for indoor applications, so if a used system comes with a roof, you may not need it.

How long does cantilever racking last?

Cantilever racking, if used correctly, should last a lifetime. The heavy steel should resist most general wear and tear. However, be sure to protect the racking from rust and forklift damage.

How much weight can a cantilever rack hold?

It depends – different sizes of cantilever components and different steel gauges affect the overall capacity rating of the system. Be sure to choose cantilever components rated for your application. Call us at 888-680-2256 for questions about what racking you should choose for your application.

How far out can a cantilever rack go?

In general, cantilever arms range from 24” to 48” long. A row of cantilever racking can extend as far as you’d like so long as space allows.

What angle is best for cantilever rack arms?

Cantilever rack arms can be straight or inclined. Straight arms work well for flat lumber, furniture, pallets, etc. Inclined arms prevent round products like logs or pipes from rolling off the system.

How does a cantilever rack stay up?

Cantilever racking is supported by a heavy upright and base that bolts to the warehouse floor. These industrial components should keep your system standing upright but don’t overload your racking for the risk of the system tipping forward under the load.

The entire system bolts together to keep the racking up.

What supports a cantilever system?

The cantilever upright and base are the primary components supporting the system. Bolts, bracing, and safety components also support the racking.
